Questions
Everything you need to know about enrollment and our classes.
We offer a free placement session where an instructor watches your child play a few games and asks about their experience. This tells us which level fits best—no guessing, no wasted time in the wrong class.
Just bring your child and a notebook if they like taking notes. We have boards and pieces at the school. No special equipment needed.
Yes. If your child misses a session, we can arrange a makeup with another class at the same level or a private session with an instructor. Life happens—we work with you.
Beginner is ages 8–11, Intermediate is 10–14, and Advanced is 13–18. The overlap exists because skill matters more than age. A sharp 10-year-old might belong in Intermediate, while a 13-year-old new to chess starts in Beginner.
Group classes build community and confidence at a lower price. Private coaching works best if your child wants intensive focus or is preparing for tournaments. Many families do both.
What's your cancellation policy?
